Laurie Quintiliani

Laurie Quintiliani | Managing Director

Laurie was appointed Managing Director in March 2011, after six years in senior management positions within the company.
Laurie started his career serving an apprenticeship on mining and associated projects through the Goldfields and WA’s north-west in 1989.
Once qualified, apart from a brief period working in switchboard and MCC construction, Laurie continued working in the industrial sector as leading hand, foreman, and later project supervisor.
In his role at Managing Director, Laurie manages the estimating and project management team at Peak Industrial Electrical and has 15 years’ experience with design and construction projects.

Rod Smith |  Director 

After three years as Peak Industrial Electrical’s Managing Director, Rod stepped down to take on a senior management role at Peak’s parent company, Everett Smith & Co Pty. Ltd.
Retaining a position as non-executive director, Rod maintains an active role in the company.
Rod has a strong technical background in project management and commercial construction. He is an A-grade electrical fitter and installer with 25 years of hands-on experience in the industry and holds a contractors licence in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Patrick Spalding

Pat Spalding | Contracts Manager

Pat joined the company in 2002 after more than 30 years in senior management including positions for a number of companies within the electrical contracting industry, specialising in the process control of crushing and mining equipment.
Pat is an A-grade electrician with qualifications in PLC programming and other trade related fields, as well as a Diploma in Accounting.
His previous project experience includes design and construction projects with PLC control system design and programming, and installation for industrial plants in Australia and overseas.
As part of his role as Contracts Manager, Pat provides technical support internally as well as tendering and project management, PLC and electrical systems’ design.

Mark Leaker | Construction Manager  

As well as Construction Manager, Mark is also the lead commissioning electrician on all of Peak Industrial Electrical’s projects. He coordinates and supervises projects from the company’s Perth office, as well as onsite to personally guide the works in progress.
Mark has 20 years of experience in working and managing electrical construction projects for the industrial and mining sectors.
He has worked extensively as both an electrician and electrical supervisor throughout WA’s North-West and is highly experienced in electrical installation and control systems, including PLC and automated installations for most forms of mining and industrial plants and infrastructure.

NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS PROFILES 

Brian A Cooper | Director 

Brian has been involved in the electrical contracting industry for over 50 years.  He began his career as a tradesman and went onto open his own contracting company, Westwide Electrical Contractors, in 1974. 

Brian owned and managed Westwide Electrical until 1990, by which point the company had grown into one of Perth’s major electrical contractors of the time.

Since 1990, Brian has pursued various other interests in business, local government, and industry groups.  

He is the former Mayor of Wanneroo and a life member of The Electrical Contractors Association, of which he is a past treasurer.  His role within Peak Industrial Electrical centres principally on corporate governance and compliance issues.

Terrance E Smith MIE Aust CP Eng | Engineering Director

Terry has over 45 years experience in the electrical contracting industry. In his role as Peak Industrial Electrical 's principal engineer, Terry oversees the company’s engineering and design activities.

Terry started his career as a tradesman and later went onto qualify as an electrical engineer in 1974, after pursuing further study at the then-Australian Institute of Technology, today’s Curtin University.

In 1965, Terry founded Everett Smith & Co, one of WA’s largest commercial electrical contractors, where he currently holds the position of Managing Director. Terry also holds non-executive directorial positions within several other companies and has various business interests in land development and mining.
